AI and machine learning development that turns your data into decisions

Nexlla's AI and machine learning development services build systems that read your messages, documents and records, sort them, and recommend or take the next step, with a person confirming anything that matters. We start with a data audit, so you know what AI can do with the data you have before you pay for a build, and we work in Arabic and English for organisations across the Gulf, Syria and the wider Middle East.

In plain terms

What AI and machine learning development means for a business

Strip away the hype and most useful business AI does one of three things. It understands unstructured input such as a WhatsApp message, an email or a PDF. It sorts or predicts, putting that input into the right group or estimating what happens next. And it acts, by drafting a reply, filling a form or proposing a change in another system.

Large language models made the first and last steps cheap. Classic machine learning still does much of the middle, often faster and more predictably. Development work is mostly the joins: getting clean data in, connecting the model to your real systems, testing it against real cases, and deciding where a person must stay in the loop.

That is why we treat AI as an engineering project with a data question at its heart, not as a model to plug in. The model is usually the easy part.

The AI capability map

Six things AI can do for you, and what each one needs

Each capability below says when it pays off and how much data it needs. Where we have shipped it ourselves, we name the product or project. Where we have not, we say that too.

01 Data needed: Low to medium

Assistants and agents

Conversational AI that answers customers or staff and can take steps in your systems, such as booking, checking an order or opening a ticket.

Worth it when
Many repeated conversations follow a handful of patterns, and the answers already exist in your policies, catalogue or calendar.
Data readiness
FAQs, policies, product data and API access to the systems it should check.
Proof
Rafeeq, our Arabic AI receptionist on WhatsApp for Gulf businesses, and Yasmin, the shopping assistant at Shaam Store on the web, in the app and on WhatsApp where Meta's platform allows.
02 Data needed: Medium

Document and knowledge Q&A

Retrieval-augmented generation: the AI searches your own documents first and writes an answer from what it finds, citing the source.

Worth it when
People lose time hunting through manuals, contracts, policies or help pages for answers that are written down somewhere.
Data readiness
Documents that are current, de-duplicated and owned by someone who keeps them right.
Proof
The live support chat in our Website Dashboard answers visitors from the site's own content first, and a person takes over when it matters.
03 Data needed: Medium

Email and text classification

Models that read incoming text and label, route or prioritise it, often paired with a suggested reply.

Worth it when
A shared inbox, a contact form or a support queue gets more messages than a team can sort by hand.
Data readiness
A few hundred real past messages with the label a person would have given them.
Proof
Inboxy, our privacy-first email assistant, labels every account's mail automatically and pre-drafts replies in the user's own voice.
04 Data needed: High

Monitoring and computer vision

Systems that watch sensor feeds, cameras or images and flag what needs a person: an anomaly, a defect, an animal out of range.

Worth it when
Something important happens across a large area or a long shift, and people cannot watch all of it.
Data readiness
Labelled images or footage, or long sensor history, plus a clear definition of what counts as an alert.
Proof
For the Arabian Oryx Hema in Oman we built the sensing, mapping and alerting platform across roughly 50 kilometres of terrain. That is the data foundation vision models sit on; we scope any model on top case by case.
05 Data needed: High

Forecasting and analytics

Models that predict demand, churn, stock or cash flow, or that find drivers hidden in your numbers.

Worth it when
You make the same planning decision every week or month, and a better estimate would change it.
Data readiness
Several seasons of consistent history, with the events that disturbed it (holidays, promotions, Ramadan) recorded.
Proof
No public case study yet. We would rather tell you that than borrow someone else's.
06 Data needed: Low

Workflow automation and copilots

AI inside the tools your team already uses, drafting, filling, summarising and proposing actions that a person approves.

Worth it when
Staff repeat the same multi-step task in a dashboard, CRM or admin panel many times a day.
Data readiness
Clear rules for the task, and an API or database the copilot can use safely.
Proof
Nello, the copilot in our dashboards, proposes changes that need a Confirm click, and our platforms connect to Claude or ChatGPT through an MCP server with an audit log and approval queue.

How we de-risk an AI project

Four gates, and permission to stop at each one

AI projects fail expensively when the doubts come out after launch. We put them up front. Every gate ends with something you can judge, and a clear reason to stop if the evidence is not there.

  1. 01

    Data audit

We look at the data you have, where it lives, who may use it and how clean it is, and test the idea on a small sample.

You getA written go, change or stop recommendation, with the data work needed first.

ExitStop here if the data cannot support the idea yet.

  2. 02

    Prototype

A narrow working version on your real data, used by a few people on your side, not a slide demo.

You getSomething your team can try, plus a first view of cost per request.

ExitStop here if people would not use it.

  3. 03

    Evaluation

A test set built from real past cases, scored for accuracy, tone, dialect and safety, and rerun after every change.

You getA scorecard you sign off, with the failure cases listed.

ExitStop here if it is not accurate enough for the job.

  4. 04

    Guarded launch

Live for a share of traffic or a pilot team, with confirmation on risky actions, a route to a person, cost limits and monitoring.

You getUsage, cost and quality reports, and a plan for what comes next.

ExitWiden it only when the numbers hold.

Before you commission anything

Buy it, build it, or wait

Buy a product

When your need is common, such as answering and booking customers on WhatsApp, a ready-made service is faster and cheaper than custom work. Rafeeq exists for exactly that case in the Gulf, and our WhatsApp AI guide explains what to check in any provider.

Build it

When the AI has to work inside your own systems, follow rules only your business has, or keep data inside your environment. This is where a data audit, a prototype and an evaluation set earn their cost.

Wait, and fix the data

When the records are scattered, inconsistent or missing, the best AI investment is a better database, a cleaner form or a proper dashboard. We will tell you if that is the honest answer.

Regional realities

Arabic, data rules and service coverage

Language comes first. A model that is fluent in formal Arabic can still stumble on a Khaleeji voice note transcript or a Syrian customer writing in Arabizi, so evaluation sets are built from the region's real messages, not translated English examples.

Data rules come next. The UAE and Saudi Arabia both have personal data protection laws, and some sectors add their own requirements on where data may be processed. We design around them with private deployments or self-hosted models where needed; our UAE PDPL guide covers the basics and is not legal advice.

For Syria, we check AI provider and messaging availability before design, because coverage changes and some services are restricted. A website or in-app assistant is often the dependable channel.

What it costs

Every AI project is quoted per project once the data audit shows what is realistic. You will see two numbers: the build, and the monthly running cost for model usage, hosting and any messaging fees, with limits you control.

You can pay Nexlla by Visa, Mastercard, bank transfer, PayPal and other methods.

Questions

AI and machine learning, answered

What is the difference between AI development and machine learning development?

Machine learning is the part of AI that learns patterns from examples, such as sorting messages or predicting demand. Most business AI today combines both: a large language model for understanding and writing text, plus smaller trained or rule-based parts for classifying, scoring and checking. We choose the lightest mix that does the job reliably.

How much data do we need before starting an AI project?

Less than most people expect for assistants and document Q&A: clean, current documents and access to the systems the AI should check. Classification needs a few hundred real, labelled examples to test against. Forecasting and computer vision need the most, usually long, consistent history or labelled images. The data audit tells you which group you are in before you spend on a build.

How do you keep an AI system from inventing answers?

We ground it in your own content and live systems, test it on real past questions before launch, and design it to say it does not know when the source is silent. Actions that touch money, bookings or customer records need a person to confirm them.

Which AI models and providers do you work with?

Our products run on Gemini, Claude or self-hosted open models, and client projects use the same provider-agnostic approach. The choice depends on language quality, cost per request, and where your data is allowed to go.

How much does AI development cost?

Each AI project is quoted per project after a short data audit, because the effort depends on your data and the systems involved. Expect two parts: the build, and monthly running costs for model usage, hosting and messaging. If you only need a WhatsApp assistant, a ready-made product can cost far less than a custom build.

Can AI work properly in Arabic?

Yes, with testing. Current models read and write Modern Standard Arabic well, and can handle Gulf and Levantine dialects and Arabizi when the prompts and examples are written for them. We evaluate on real messages from your customers, in the dialects they actually use, before anything goes live.

Can you add AI to software we already use?

Usually. If your system has an API or a database we can reach safely, an assistant or automation can read from it and propose actions. Our own platforms expose an MCP server so Claude or ChatGPT can work inside them with an audit log and approval queue, and we apply the same pattern to client systems.
